Another thing to add to his list of many failings.

Is Barcadia actually closing?
Eartoot, has mentioned on this thread that Peter’s mate Debug / Daniel Crocker is now based there. He did a few Debug events at Barcadia.
It looks like Peter is hanging on to the venue, using someone else as a front. If you read his email to the backers he hints at future events.
How this is legal is beyond me.

I’ll keep an eye on it when I’m next in Norwich, usually at least once a month.

I know I am a terrible person but I find this all terribly amusing and warms my dark heart. You could tell from day one that it was not going to work as it was catering for a very small section of society with the vegan only options, let alone the pictures of what you could get just made me laugh my arse off.

As for giving him any money whatsoever, no chance, I have been done with that circle jerk of the retro community for some time now as their constant ohh wow is me stuff ended up making me feel depressed and that is not what I was there for nor wanted.

Life is hard enough as it is without having to listen to their constant pity party and truth be told, having moved on it sure has improved my mental state no end.

Do not get me wrong, talking about mental health is fine just NOT ALL THE BLOODY TIME.

Has the rat faced fuckwit scammed the simpletons at Debug media into taking over the barcadia lease – https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/16346483

That was a good find. Around the time Peter started his new company up, Pal Productions. That’s registered in Norwich too.

He’s been struck off from companies house 4-5 times now. Failed loan shark, failed everything.

Daniel Crocker, 3 businesses. 1 struck off, 1 about to be, and a new one based in Barcadia.
What’s known about this guy?

Almost empty, he’s ahead of the bailiffs.

So did the executive bathroom have a “Toilet with cunts” poster?

Nice bit of sumptious jungle theme decor going on there. Worth a pretty penny to the liquidators I’d imagine.

Joyous! And Code Tapper’s reply was genius… one of the great ironies of the Nerd is that the only thing he’s ever done that’s been even remotely successful is his YouTube channel, and yet he tries his hardest *not* to make videos – doesn’t write his own scripts, uses copious amounts of stock footage, releases one about once every four months, can’t be arsed to give a proper introduction when he does stoop to attending retro gaming events… it’s like he resents having to even make videos, yet nothing else he’s ever done has come anywhere close to succeeding. Can’t even muster up the courage to admit Barcadia’s flopped. Wonder what his next venture will be – probably another book that’ll end up in The Works for 99p weeks after publication.

Consider it dug…

Hey folks!
Firstly, just wanted to give my apologies for the lack of updates. There are workings behind the scenes and some external factors based the continuity of the venue which I can’t yet go into, hence this is currently for backer eyes only, but I’m aware that a couple of you have been asking for more information in the Discord server.
The short and sweet is, after long discussions, we’ve concluded that in its current format & setting, Barcadia unfortunately just wasn’t viable. It became painfully obvious by six months in, that the venue was going to struggle, but given our priority was always a community space over profit, we hoped to press on and get to a place where it could at least sustain itself. Every single avenue was explored, but despite continuing to put as much into it as we could, financially, physically and mentally, the arrangement with our landlords and providers meant our costs were increasing and the margins in hospitality which were already incredibly tight, were just getting tighter and tighter, meaning something had to give.
We had hoped to revamp the venue this year, and relaunch it into something that was better for the area and in line with suggestions from our community, but sadly, the resources and ultimately, market, were just not there.
This isn’t a decision we wanted to make; we’ve had tremendous fun with tremendous people, and we’d like to deeply thank everyone who supported us throughout.
It’s easy to see this as a disappointing failure, but for the time it lasted, Barcadia was fantastic, offering an atmosphere and community that I haven’t felt anywhere else, and I know those of you who visited agreed. It was worth it for every single kid who got excited discovering Pac-Man, and every event which made people feel like they had a safe community space to unwind in.
To those who didn’t get to see it, I’d like to extend my sincere apologies. We held on for as long as we could, but I really wish we could have continued long enough for every one of our backers to visit.
From a personal perspective, it’s been one hell of a journey; I genuinely poured my heart and soul into it, spent many hours both behind and in front of the bar, chatting to some of you folks, trying out new events, testing new menus, new machines, cleaning up vomit and serving some killer cocktails. I wouldn’t change a thing.
But…. the journey is not quite over. We’re aware that Rock Band Night withdrawal symptoms are now in their advanced stages, and chief event supremo, Jack, is eager to get back in the swing of things! Options are being looked at and I’ll put a video out in due course covering everything off.
In the mean time, please, please be sure to support your local independent businesses. There have been a huge swathe of retro arcades dying around the UK. Unless you’re a huge chain, it’s a tough world out there. So, if you’ve got something independent and local to you, and that you cherish, remember to give them some love.
Thank you so much for your support and ultimately, for making Barcadia possible. I’m just sorry that I couldn’t keep it alive for longer.
Much love,
Peter x

It’s a shame no one mentioned that avenue that is called opening your damn fucking bar.

Lets face it he thought he could be the chummy landlord being Billy Big Balls with the customers playing arcades whilst Sam did the actual work. Her walking out meant he actually had to put effort in. And we couldn’t have him damaging his manicure.

Never mind Peter – easy come, easy go – it’s not like you used any of your own money or anything for this ill fated vanity project. Disgraceful weasel should be ashamed, but we know he’s not capable of considering the impact on his stupid backers and the responsibility he had to them when he came up with this crappy idea. This shitball will be back on the grift again soon enough

Don’t forget all that effort he put into that single floor tile, he really sweated over that one…

lol. lmao, even. Well there’s £28k of people’s money well spent. And that’s to say nothing of the financial investments from other sad acts you managed to rope in with you on this deluded fool’s errand, or the relationships and livelihoods of your employees that you’ve burned along the way. You’ve left a trail of devastation in your wake. Great job, Peter, you useless knacker!

There’s more spin in that wall of words than their was in Shane Warne’s entire first class cricket career (may he rest in peace).

Howled at “Two things” then proceeding to list three. Then again, judging by the absolute horror show that is Barcadia and it’s disastrous financial situation, it’s clear that numbers were never his strong suit. Absolute clown. Will it humble him though? Will it fuck.

The timing is impeccable. He will now say “I’ve posted a full update to my backers (and the world within minutes of the backer-only post lol!) and I don’t have anything else to say about it. Next question? Sorry I’ve already discussed that. No the al overdue accounts are none of anybody’s business. Does anyone have any non-Barcadia questions? No? Then I’m done here!” Cue meltdown and exit stage left.

He’s so predictable. Onwards to the next grift!
