Talking to Maya about Barcadia’s demise

I speak to a COMPLETELY IMPARTIAL outsider about the Barcadia situation. Oddly enough, she isn’t particularly impressed with what’s happened.

On a somewhat related note, just found out Slops, a well known ally of Mr. Barcadia Failure himself, is about to lose his YouTube channel by way of his Google account. He pissed off that piece of shit behind the SuperSega scam console. SomeOrdinaryGamers posted a video about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4h-UrGKbtLk

Never seen Slops’s mug before, but let me just say I’d never tire of slapping it.

He was the inspiration for the popular Viz character Terry Fuckwit.

This is great news, and Slops is actually using is less annoying voice in the video

The most inept sleuth ever, he went after a scammer and got his own channel shut down , this is hilarious.

Seems much more likely slops fell for something else and the SuperSega guy is not some kind of moustache twirling James Bond villain.

At least he tries to do something he might be an utter failure but at least he tries.

What have you done George ?

Apart from being one of the most toxic jerks on the retro scene.

Hell why not make another sobbing video about your dammned dead dog

George exposed peepee for the lying manipulating vegan scamming twat he is. Let’s not mention about peepee’s kickstarter he did after Barcadia was bought. Let’s not mention the donated computers and consoles that peepee had been given, that peepee is now flogging off on ebay. Let’s not mention peepee not paying his staff. Let’s not mention how lazy peepee is when it came to running barcadia. You want someone to point a finger at, run along and point it at peepee.

Also you call peepee being a loan shark and accomplishment?

You want toxic, run along and look at the circle jerk you subscribe to. Perhaps maybe watch top hat gaming man and lady decades begging videos to cheer yourself up.

Also dog grief is legitimate. Unfortunately a twat like peepee wouldn’t know that sort of emotion.

Nerd doesn’t try, though, does he. He used other people’s money to set up Barcadia, didn’t pay his own staff and then walked away when it got too hard. He puts in the minimum amount of effort, not just to his failed businesses but also into his “content”.

George wrote a book last year, got it published and sold all his copies. He put in the graft and it worked. He also puts out far more video content than the Nerd, who only seems capable of one a month – tops – and he relies on clickbaity thumbnails and titles which recently got him found out by Mack Attack. Look it up.

I think George has wrote two books now.

Yep. He started writing his first one a few years after Octavius started hers. At least one of them has been published, too.

I’m surprised that he commented on that video without simply dismissing the author as a “troll”.

Let me guess, you were another barcadia “director”.

He doesn’t try, he runs business after business into the ground. He doesn’t even try to stop them from being struck off.

It’s the way in which he fails, not even submitting any accounts.
He has started a third media company, they probably do make money. I guess he doesn’t like paying tax.
He cost taxpayers thousands, probably tens of thousands in unpaid tax. He steals from us all.
Not to mention £28k off backers.
His mate in Debug plays the same game. Bizarrely a new business has been registered at Barcadia.
These people only take, they don’t like to give anything back unless it makes them look good.

It seems to be cheaper for PeePee to just let all his failed companies get struck off each year, and setup a new one each time than to actually submit accounts and pay his fair share of tax. The definition of a grifter.

And I bet his bed smells like rat piss and has vermin droppings all through it from you know who…

What a nasty troll.

Peter appears to be a healthy, able-bodied human. He could make a positive contribution to society. Complying with his legal obligations as a company director and paying taxes would be a good start. Instead, it appears his objective is to waft through life at the expense of everyone else.

That makes him one of the most toxic jerks on the retro scene.

More fun from the Barcadia kickstarter page… a disappointed backer writes:

Hi Pete
My wife and I, and our kids came many times. So I’m sad it’s gone.
On the opening night we didn’t have a great experience, which someone on your side of things decided to delete.
We kept supporting you, despite the offers of free tokens you may recall me saying it wasn’t the point.
However the moment I decided to stop. Coming was when your barstaff refused me buying 100 quid of tokens so my wife and I could complete the zombie gun game (forget which). Then ten minutes later we found two people playing on it that you then promoted on social media that night as completing the game.
That kind of decision making puts people off. It’s perhaps pointless now to highlight this as you’ve sadly given in, but just remember next time to treat all patrons as equal regardless of if they are youtubers or not.
I hope you try something again in future, but please treat everyone equally.

“Tried everything I could”, did you, PeePee?

I just think it’s insane that here was a guy willingly offering to spend 100 quid on tokens and yet he was told he couldn’t, because according to PeePee, tokens were in “incredibly short” supply and that “you weren’t allowed to purchase £100 worth [because] it wouldn’t have been fair on the other punters.” There are microbial bacteria in the deep craters of Mars with more business acumen than NN.

Steven seagull stole my testicle

Okay to some extent NN is correct nothing wrong with failure, but when you continually fail you need to question is what you doing really for you? Any of it. Especially conning backers out of their money, and refusing to pay workers who stuck by this weasel shit stain. I wonder if they can go after Ashen’s as he name is attached to this project as well 🤔

People tried to advise NN, we know he frequents here so he could have cherry picked some of the good ideas that went around, but he didn’t. I think NN may fail alot but he never takes full responsibility for his actions, thinking he knows best. A good boss leads with the advice, a bad boss thinks he is always right.

Finally, keep up the good work George, I would love to hear what both you and code tapper have to say about all this.

Until pal productions goes under, I will go back to lerking.

Long live the bummers!

I never understand how these YouTubers can claim to be so busy. Especially people like Peter who dump out one zero-effort excuse for a video once a month or less.

There are many YouTubers who have families and full-time day jobs, yet still manage to find enough spare time to produce videos of better quality with greater frequency than Nostalgia Nerd.

Maybe it’s just not his calling. Nor is running a pub. Or a web design business. Or a payday loan broker. Or a being faithful partner…

Hate to say it, but his business life and his personal life bear uncanny parallels. He can’t hold down a relationship anymore than he can keep a viable business afloat. He’s got a kid from one failed relationship, has had an on-off (when it suits him) thing with Octavius for years, was in bed (literally and figuratively) with Sam, his also-business-partner for Barcadia until she dumped him, now he’s swanning around with someone called Marta who he posts oily messages about on social media saying she’s “the best human” and how amazing it is to have her in his life etc. No doubt she’ll get tired of him – or he of her – and that’ll be another busted flush. The guy has very serious commitment problems, with women and with his endless string of failed businesses.

Not sure about the mother of his children, but the others seem to be somewhat vulnerable. He’s a creep.

I wouldn’t leave him alone with my children, sister, mother or grandmother.

Wait until Marta turns up one day and find Octavius there dropping her rats off for PeePee to babysit. And that will be the end of that relationship. How long before she gives him the flick for screwing around with Octavius?

It’s okay Octavius now has a greenscreen suit. They’ll be in like a ninja, a cage will appear out of nowhere and all PeePee will hear is the whisper of the void.

Aww damn, I was going to visit as I don’t live too far away, it was on my to do list just below contracting dysentry.

You could have done both at Arcadia! If it was still open

8-12 Prince of Wales Norwich is officially for sale as a freehold subject to vacant possession. So in other words that means you would be buying the building from scratch and not a leasehold to continue BARCADIA or any other failed business start up. So all these rumours of Limited Liability Companies set up at companies house to save or stall BARCADIA from closure or rebranding under new management are false.

The timing seems impossibly coincidental. Was he not paying the rent?
Surely his contract was for a longer term?

Well it was a limited liability company against debts, so its not like chasing a private tenant or social tenant for unpaid rent. Plus even the latter can do a surrender of contract agreement or take out a debt protection order. Peter had cleared out barcadia, its finished. Plus yeah I saw a ton of unopened mail through barcadias letterbox. Stereotypical of someone not facing financial responsibilities by ignoring them.

Such a shame. I was looking forward to going along to see my name permanently recorded on the whiteboard, enjoy some vegan fries and marshmallows, while sitting quietly with a pint and a good book by Octavius. Might even have brought along my Vega+ in case the arcade machines were all out of service/been reposessed. It was reassuring to know after a couple of beers and a belly-full of marshmallow that there were ample facilities both with urinals and without to take care of all my bodily functions. I guess my dream just isn’t going to be realised now.

JamesP

He says that he “tried everything” no he did not
Did he try selling no vegan food – No
Did he try bringing in a bar manager who has experience in savings pubs – No
Did he try posting more on socials, rather than the odd post. He should have been posting multiple times per day, everyday with specials, offers, etc.

The worst worst thing is not paying the staff, I do not care who you are or what you need to do make sure all the staff are paid. He has tons of retro gear he should have listed some to pay wages. He new six months in it was not working, so their must have come a point where he was letting people work knowing full well he could not pay them. That is low, very very low

Reply to  George

It took him 5 months to put on events, he thought people would just turn up in their droves. He eventually realised he had to offer something different once in a while.
No hot drinks, minimum £5 spend on tokens (nearly half way to the cost of Retro Replay).
No proper bands, just cheap mate’s rates musicians.
He admitted it was created primarily for his mates to hang out in. He needed to sell a lot of beer, that’s how pubs survive.

Wasn’t a good sign that before it opened he had Sam’s father in doing basic DIY work because he couldn’t/didn’t want to.

Disappointed the “Barcadia Diaries” don’t seem to have been made available to the public.

Retro Replay makes a lot of money, the market was there, Peter just couldn’t tap into it.
Don’t get me wrong, the owner of Retro Replay is a nasty piece of work. His family has effectively stolen my wife’s son from her.
That aside, he is a very wealthy man. Probably worth a million at 30 years of age. He knew Barcadia would fail.
