That rainbow effect is called plasma in the demo scene if I recall, for the technically minded you can change a colour/pen every 4 pixels with the copper so that’s how it’s done.
While I appreciate the production, it’s ultimately a bag of shit.

Great stuff George – I do like a chip tune and really miss this sort of music in games, as opposed to the full studio orchestral bollocks they put in games nowadays! For a hell of a chip tune also check out Hi Fi Sky by Markus Klein (aka Lman) on the c64 – it’s astonishing for 40 year old hardware. If you check it out in Vice make sure it has the 8580 Sid chip selected though – as the piece uses the quirks of that particular version of the c64 sound chip 😊👌

Any chance you could upload a recording of the air circulating device heard in the background? I’m a big fan of those things.

Kingston Town, made famous by the covers band UB40. To my knowledge they never released a single song of their own.

Well, actually seems they did write some. But all the big ones people remember by them were covers.

I guess Reggae with a Brummie accent doesn’t sell 🙂

Yep – UB40 might have had some merit if they remained edgey like their very early stuff. They soon degenerated in shit plastic reggae and stayed that way sadly. Their version of I got you Babe with Chrissy Hynde (an already vomit worthy song) in particular is the work of the devil 😂

Over 100 million sales can’t be wrong, they are my favourite group of all time incidentally

If you play any of their albums backwards surprisingly they sound just the same.

They recorded well over 20 albums and only 3 of those albums were cover albums, the rest were originally recordings written by themselves with the odd cover here and their and their biggest selling album to date is Promises & Lies which has sold over 9 million copies and has only 1 cover tune on it out of the other 10 tracks that are on the album which are all original compositions

I dunno like, Google doesn’t seem to rate UB40, and Google knows like…. a lot of bands.
Worlds greatest bands according to Google

The nicest thing I can say about UB40 is that at least they’re not Simply Red.
