Can’t believe the Retro Hour have slops on this week to talk about the Amico. He did a bloomin 4 hour video about it. Don’t need an interview about it.
Been listening to early episodes and they had industry legends on it and now the guests are becoming filler.
I noticed that too and a few weeks ago they had Nostalgia Nerd on to talk about Barcadia. I don’t really have anything against The Retro Hour but it’s a shame to see them gravitating towards the circle jerk.
I’m listening to early episodes, some I might have missed and they’ve had Lord British, Nolan Bushnell etc,, back then there were no adverts, there was a paypal donation stuff. Now it is riddled with adverts, is funded also by Patreon and the best they can do is talk to other youtubers? it’s a pretty poor effort, their Patreon tiers are pricey too.
they will do whatever they think “the community” wants which, in their clearly blinkered view, means getting “the wankers” from the UK Youtube scene on there but let’s be honest these twats have shat the bed so frequently that only an idiot would climb into it with them, hence their recent guests. it’s pathetic, all they do is waffle a load of base level shite.
yes i really hate that. no-one really wants to hear from the interviewer, let the guest speak for fucks sakes. or if it’s any of the circle jerk just don’t do the show AT ALL. simple !
They talk about themselves enough as it is. Funny how they go to all these computer shows around Europe but never report on them much, other than them getting too drunk and meeting people. I mean, it’s one thing to ask for patreon money but if you’re using it to go on a nice jolly for the weekend and don’t report much about it then that’s just a free holiday.
yes mate well a lot of them do that, don’t they ? i was linked recently to a uk youtuber going on their jollies around london and staying at a posh hotel etc for no reason other than making a crap video about it. eating at nice looking restaurants, cream teas in the afternoon etc and all paid for by “the fans” and for what, so they could see what they can’t have as they’ve funded someone else to have it instead ? bizarre.
that’s symptomatic of all these youtube channels though mate they can easily enough get older folks to talk about games, at least those who’re amenable to it, but let’s face it we’ve heard “the stories” a million times before in a million other places. the problem is that these twats are about as insightful as a blob of chewing gum, they ask no interesting questions and the show lives or dies based on the guests. therefore the show is dying as they’ve already had on anyone of note who was willing to speak and now they’ve mopping up the skitters with mouldy bread and trying to convince people it’s a healthy meal. the show is bullshit !
I provided them with a list of about 20 people they could interview. As of yet not a single one has appeared on the show. Instead we get slops and I’m not just talking about Mr Ibbertson.
i thought it was maybe a bit far mate but no-one has commented to that effect there are a few things in there that i wasn’t sure about including such as the zyklon b comment i don’t want to upset people i don’t mind offending them but i’m not out to upset anyone really or at least not people who don’t upset others ! ultimately this video was done in many ways to highlight the hopelessness of people who generate content like this, how pointless it all is, how little they actually know about video games and how a certain person has had a racist slur as the name of his channel/online persona for years and only just seems to have realised so i put some daftness from that angle in there too such as the nick griffin TOASTY :/ nick griffin is a real fucking arsehole i love the cook report episode about him ! if we could ever say someone “looks like their politics” it would have to be that crazy faced prick !
Top 10 videos tend to just annoy me. Especially when it’s best games or something. Judged by whom exactly? I don’t care if everyone thinks something is great, I might like something different.
As for the sl0pe name, when he endorsed the mansion buying people I just had to laugh at how his channel name was a slur. Yep, it’s a dictionary word but then many other slurs are as well.
both the videos AND the people behind them annoy the shit out of me mate. lowest common denominator SHIT ! always ! just done by morons for clicks and anyone can throw them together (see: THIS VIDEO). it’s pathetic. just speak in a boorish and excited manner whilst simultaneously sounding like an annoying fucking manchild and bob’s your uncle, you’ll probably get loads of views from 7 year old americunts !

Superb stuff Slops and impeccably researched as usual! There’s loads of genuinely obscure games I’m now going to check out dude – thanks to your suggestions! Have you ever thought of writing a book on this stuff? Something original like an a-z of these type of games would be fab – I’m sure all of us could stump up the cash for such a trinket! If you do start a crowdfunder though, could you please do it towards the end of the year – I wouldn’t want to commit to your pledge until we have sorted Chloe and Richard’s holiday this year – god knows they both need one – poor mites. Anyways – keep up the good work pal! 😊👌
