We’ll have to be quick. That £1,000 tier is selling fast!

Although it looks like someone pulled out as I was writing this. Only 2 sold.

Oh, Dazz is from Did You Know Gaming? I’ve never seen worse structured and narrated videos on Youtube, this project is in good hands..

He appears to be just one unremarkable contributor among many.

That channel is the same grade of regurgitated garbage that Top Hat and Lady D excrete.

Surprised at how many comments had been deleted on the KS discussion. A good 10% appear to have been flagged as breaching KS guidelines.

This is not normal, much like the update that talks about a trolling campaign against them.

The replies are all coming down to “trust me, I know what I am doing”

I totally missed the bit about giving away dead stock. Top marks for highlighting. There definitely seems to be the wiff of desperation in the air in recent twitter posts. Lots of their nob-end mates heavily promoting this on twitter now, clearly who have been ‘encouraged’ to do so. The desperation alone and recent update in the campaign make it clear they are desparate for this money. Makes you wonder why? Also, this has been on the back burn for over a year. Nerd was posting pics of the bar back in December on twitter. Why are they now asking for money? My guess is they signed the lease some time ago, didn’t think things through and did not do their due diligence properly, cost of living crisis has now occured, and now they are screwed and don’t have the readies to make the enterprise happen, and this is just a desperate cash grab before things go tits up.

I didn’t take screenshots but I saw a few of the comments that were removed- at least one from Richard Bits mentioned Peter and Samantha being in a relationship which could be why they were removed.

The deleted Kickstarter comment was Simon Butler saying he wouldn’t wipe his arse with Joffa Smith. Charming way to talk about a deceased former colleague, but that’s Butler all over.

Just because someone is dead, doesnt make them a nice person. Us oldies who have been around the scene before it was retro (Im probably near Simon’s age) know that Joffa was a coding genius, but, a very troubled individual, and, being polite, was not a nice person to be around near the end. I too have work colleagues , who I proverbially wouldnt pi$$ on if they were on fire. Doesnt make me a bad person…..

Anyone familiar with the development environment that is games development, will be more than aware of strong feelings that still surface to this day.

People having strong feelings about past producers, artists, musicians, project managers, studio heads etc.

A lot of interviews about game development have seen individuals rewrite history to present it in a more favourable light, putting the blame for project failures on others, taking credit for work they had no involvement, overblowing minor roles they had.

Try approaching staff from Handmade Software, Imagitec Design, Atari Corp, Psygnosis, Team Scavenger, System 3 and more.

Comments shared both publicly and privately, make comments by ex-Ocean staff, look like the work of choir boys, by comparison.

Simon’s exact words were “I’d rather rub shit in my eyes” in a reply to a Kickstarter sim supporter who suggested a Jofa smith memorial plague on the venue would be a nice gesture.

I did not say I wouldn’t wipe my arse with Joffa Smith.
I was asked if I was not prepared to extoll his “legacy” or words to that effect.
My reply and this is verbatim was “I would rather rub shit in my eyes.”

Whilst it might be uncomfortable for them, both Peter and Samantha do have a moral obligation to reply to all genuine, sensible questions.

The latest update from them i believe now has them saying that
Barcadia needs this Kickstarter cash injection to keep moving forward at its current pace. Without it, they risk costly delays and they would likely need to seek alternative investment.

Sorry, but when the KS campaign started, we were told they’d open, on time, regardless of the campaign being successfully funded or not.

Something smells very, very off here and it’s not the vegetables rotting on the rack..

I’m so glad you’ve raised the issue of the dead stock of books being offered as perks…

Ashen’s books have been available for a good number of years and them suddenly being offered up as a perk, only now signed, just smacked of a clearance measure.

It begs the question just how many unsold copies he’s actually sat on.

🤔

Normally when you start a business venture, the first thing you do is do a business plan, and secure funding. You then source the venue, stock, etc. They seem to have done things completely backwards, and are now trying to secure the funding right at the end of the process. This stinks of incompetence. Also, if their landlords, solicitors and investors are already happy with the projections, why do they now need a £25k cash injection? Doesn’t make sense, does it.

Interesting words there then Ross – so without this deplorable ‘cash injection’ they would need to seek ‘further investment’. Seems to me that George got it right then – gullible investors are what these pond scum are seeking. sensible folk are seeing this project for what it is, and NN and his chronies just need to come clean on what this actually is – an investment from the community with no risk to themselves. if it goes tits up never mind peeps – there’s only a chance that you all may never receive your tokens, surplus books and hipster food. Not the end of the world eh? The assumption that that community are stupid is the most offensive thing about antics of these incestuous, talent free morons 🙈😂

Also looking at George’s video I find it absolutely mind boggling that at least one person has pledged a grand on this. I’d love to find out who – I’m a bit strapped myself but I have some vegan magic beans to sell 😉👌

The terminology used in the update, raised an eyebrow at my end.

” A cash injection to keep moving forward at its current pace. Without it, they risk costly delays and they would likely need to seek alternative investment.”

When you’ve previously told people looking at investing, the venue would open as planned, even if the campaign wasn’t successfully funded, talked of how you were saving money by getting Sam’s Father to do a lot of the work, doing a lot of the redecorating yourselves, hiring the actual arcade machines, rather than buying them outright, what was the £25K for?.

Your chef’s salary?

First quarter supplier prices?

Rent?

You can’t just come up with management speak, you need full transparency.

Now people who question the KS campaign have been labelled Trolls by Peter 🙄

For the love of God, this isn’t how you build credibility.

Reading through the various tiers is usually one of the most depressing part of any grifter’s Patreon or Kickstarter. They invariably degrade themselves and their audience in order to extract more from the whales who have more money than sense. Surprised there isn’t a platinum membership where Ashens himself will come round your house and let you touch his willy.

Being honest here, if this kickstarter reaches 23k for example, we all knownthat there will be a couple of anonymous 1k payments made to take it over the edge, just to claim all the capital, after all what’s a couple hundred quid on a credit card +ks fees to get a free cash flow injection.

But we all know the main reason we’ll all be watching the opening is to play Influencer Bingo on who was desperate to been seen hanging there.

That’s assuming all the pledges at the moment are genuine. Any one can make a pledge and retract it at anytime, as long as they do so before the campaign ends. Whose to say people have made pledges, and will suddenly delete them at the last minute? And that’s not just people trying to derail it, it’s just as possible supporters of the project have also made ‘fake’ pledges in order to boost the campaign and make it look more successful in order to encourage further backers. Happens all the time on Kickstarter. The last few hours of the campaign will be interesting, that’s for sure.

Some very good points raised as usual George. Any time that a campaign starts replying to the “happy to back you” comments and ignoring/deleting any of the tougher questions is a sign the campaign is heading for trouble. And it sounds like they are relying heavily on this £25k injection of funds, which is not what the campaign originally suggested.

Of course, they’re heavily relying on the dents giving them 25 grand. How else are they going to pay off NN’s girlfriend’s debt? Can’t have NN dipping into his own pocket, can we? It’s not the spineless, cowardly, narcissistic script reading YouTuber way.
