I’m late to the party as always…
I played the shit out of 4A for months. Best AC game by far and it was a worthy successor for AC4. I believe that the whole point of 4A was to row back on 4 as that was considered to be a bad game (although I didn’t think it was that bad.)
The customization and maps of 4A are yet to be beaten IMHO. I love Mech games in general but the Armored Core games give an incredible sense of speed and control.
AC5 wasn’t great, mainly aimed at an MP experience. Like most MP games it’s an excuse for lazy programming.
TBH I only learned of the new AC game recently and I’m very, very excited about it. Genuinely hope it’s not a Dark Souls clone.
AC deserves it’s own niche. Great games, amazing graphics and a ton of depth. Yeah, I’m sure we’ll all die a lot but it’ll be manic fun. Can’t wait to build a new sniper mech…
i agree mate i think 4 answer IS the best one. i’m looking forward to 6 but with trepidation, i really do hope it’s not “souls in the future”. what spooks me a bit about that possibility is that fromsoftware did have a deal with microsoft to produce a souls in space/with robots kind of game and we never really heard anything else about it then this gets announced. time will tell but i really hope it’s just an armoured core game through and through although already we can see there’s a bonfire esque system and an estus system of sorts which were not present in any other game. i can appreciate that from onboarded a LOT of new players with elden ring but that doesn’t mean they have to apply tenets from that/souls games through everything they do. anyway, i will be getting the game so time will tell !
Never played any of the armoured core titles – will have to check one out. My brother also still has a copy of that other mech game complete with the huge controller – never actually played that one either! 😊
yes mate steel battalion. mental :p the new armored core is out in a month or so, that looks like it’ll be great but there’s bound to be one you can emulate on your pc before then if you so desire, apparently armored core 3 is the best one and that’s on ps2 so most computers can emulate that.
Armored Core VI won’t be anything like a souls game mate, don’t worry about that. It’ll be exactly what the Armored Core purists want and will definitely deliver 👍🏻
